A fizzkeeper is a device that keeps bottled carbonated beverages fizzy. They usually do this by adding air to the bottle, using a pump with a non-return valve. Sort of the opposite of a wine-vacuum.
There are a number of different manufacturers and models available. We will attempt to test and document as many as possible on this site.
In the coming weeks we'll be adding detailed reviews which test the efficiency of different models.
A number of different companies manufacture fizzkeeping products.
Jokari (part of the Metalrax Group) is a company with a large collection of household products, including a large range of fizzkeepers. Jokari packaging is always branded with the name "Fizz-Keeper" and the slogan "Keeps soft drinks from going flat". 'Fizz-Keeper' would appear to the trademark of Jokari. When we talk about a 'fizzkeeper' (lower case, no hyphen), we always mean the generic name for a product which maintains fizz.
The fizzkeepers we've seen in the UK have been branded "Progress Fizz-Keeper". These look like they are also Jokari products. Do let us know if you have any more information regarding different fizzkeeper manufacturers. We'd love to hear where you got yours from. Photos or scans of packaging would also be highly appreciated.
Shop around. Your local supermarket will often sell them.

A long time ago, there was a geek house called K-One. Since there's nothing worse than flat Coke, we bought a Progress Fizzkeeper to keep the copious quantities of refrigerated cola products fizzy. Because we were a geek house, most interesting things that happened were added to our website. The fizzkeeper got its own page.
Since then we've moved out and the fizzkeeper moved too. The K-One weblord kept getting the occasional email regarding fizzkeepers though. "Where can I get one?" was the most frequently asked question. Being a helpful chap, the weblord was happy to search google and respond with all the info he could find.
This site has the rather grand aim of bringing together the fizzkeeping community. Here you can (or will) find the answers to all your fizzkeeper-related questions and (eventually) discuss your fizzkeeper on the forums.
Nope. Not at all. We are an independent fansite.
They are rather amazing aren't they? We actually enlisted the help of FIVEam designs. This guy played with a fizzkeeper for a few minutes and then rendered an incredible likeness in 3D Studio Max in no time at all.
